According to a new report from the Pew Internet & American Life Project, “fully 45% of internet users, or about 60 million Americans, say that the internet helped them make big decisions or negotiate their way through major episodes in their lives in the previous two years.” Among those big decisions is the search for a new home. The number of people who said they used the Internet to look for a new place to live grew by 43% from Jan. 2002 to March 2005, the Pew survey reports. 24% of Internet users surveyed had used it to search for a home over the past two years, and 30% of them said the Internet played a crucial or important role in their decision.
